Anakapalli: A shocking case of fraud has come to light involving a software engineer from Anakapalli. The engineer, who was previously married and legally divorced, was searching for a prospective partner when he encountered a woman from Hyderabad who happened to be a lawyer.

During their conversations, the woman made it clear to her father that in order to marry the engineer, she required a government job. Believing that her influential connections within the Telangana High Court would secure her a government position, she assured the engineer of this possibility. In October 2022, she claimed that arranging the job would cost Rs. 5 lakhs, and in November, the engineer transferred the said amount to her bank account.

Disturbingly, the situation took a sinister turn when the woman threatened to harm the engineer and her boyfriend if he dared to ask for the money back after failing to secure the promised job. Fearing for his safety, the victim promptly filed a complaint at the Anakapalli SP office on Monday. It has been revealed that a total of 34 similar complaints have been registered across various police stations in the district.

District SP KV Muralikrishna personally spoke to the victims, understanding the gravity of the situation. He promptly directed the concerned officials to take immediate action in resolving the complaints. District Additional SP Administration Vijaya Bhaskar also participated in the discussions surrounding this disturbing case of fraud.
