In association with the Rotary Club, the East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (E Co RWWO) organized a blood donation camp and free complete health awareness and check-up camp at the Subham Indoor Sports Complex in Waltair on Monday. The event witnessed active participation from railway officers, employees, sports personnel, RPF personnel, women employees, and their spouses, who availed themselves of the health services provided.

The primary objective of the camp was to raise awareness about health issues and provide quality treatment for both the general public and railway personnel.

Distinguished guests at the event included Parijata Satpathy, President of E Co RWWO; R.K. Thiruarul Jothi, Chief Medical Superintendent of Divisional Railway Hospital; Madhu B, President of the Rotary Club; and Dr. Sumana.

During her speech, Ms. Parijatha Satpathy emphasized that lifestyle changes are often the root cause of diseases. Neglecting health management, poor dietary habits, and ignoring warning signs from the body contribute to various chronic illnesses. She urged people to adopt healthy practices such as yoga, morning walks, balanced eating habits, and avoiding junk food to minimize health risks.

Indus Hospitals conducted the free health check-ups, while the blood donation camp received support from Life Share Blood Centre. Additionally, an eye check-up camp was organized by Sandhya Eye Hospitals under the guidance of the Medical Department of Waltair.

The organizers also presented on the significance of Folic Acid in women’s lives, highlighting its importance.
