Visakhapatnam, July 1 – City Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari has announced the successful completion of all arrangements for the upcoming Sri Varaha Lakshminarasimhaswamy Giri Pradakshina pilgrimage. The mayor, along with GVMC Commissioner CM Sai Kant Verma, inspected various key locations along the route to ensure a hassle-free experience for devotees.

During her tour, Mayor Kumari visited Lumbini Park, Venkoji Palem, Madhavadhara, Murali Nagar, NSTL Road, Pata Goshala, Simhachalam, Adavi Varam, Pedagadili Hanumanthuwaka Visalakshi Nagar, and Lumbini Park. She expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made and provided valuable suggestions to officials after examining the bathing facilities at Lumbini Park.

To cater to the needs of devotees, several essential amenities have been put in place along the route. Drinking water, medical camps, toilets, dust bins, and electric lamps have been installed. As vehicles are not permitted during the Giri Pradakshina, devotees are advised to carry all necessary items beforehand. For enhanced security, 100 CC cameras have been strategically placed to prevent any untoward incidents. Additionally, measures have been taken to manage traffic in crowded areas, and floodlights have been installed to ensure safety for those walking at night.

To facilitate easy identification, signboards have been erected at a height of 10 feet. Blue signboards indicate the location of drinking water, red signboards denote medical camps, green signboards mark the dust bins, and white signboards indicate the presence of toilets. Devotees have been advised to follow these signboards during their pilgrimage. Furthermore, the mayor stressed that prasad offered by charitable organizations should be distributed in eco-friendly materials such as leaves or paper.

Mayor Kumari expressed gratitude to various organizations, including NGOs, NCC, and NSS, for volunteering their services. Their support will greatly contribute to the success of the event. She also highlighted the ongoing repairs of damaged roads and the efforts taken to ensure the safety of devotees’ feet during the pilgrimage.

The inspection was attended by additional commissioners, Dr. Y. Srinivasa Rao and Dr. V. Sanyasi Rao, Chief Engineer Ravi Krishnam Raju, Town Planning Officer Sunitha, DDH Damoda Rao, Chief Medical Officer Naresh Kumar, Supervising Engineers, Zonal Commissioners, AMOHs, and others.

The Sri Varaha Lakshminarasimhaswamy Giri Pradakshina is expected to attract a large number of devotees, who can now embark on the pilgrimage with confidence in the well-organized arrangements made by the city administration.
