In a bid to address the development needs of the 16th ward, City Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari announced plans for infrastructure improvements and problem-solving initiatives. Accompanied by GVMC Commissioner CM Sai Kant Verma and Ward Corporator Molli Lakshmi, Mayor Kumari conducted a tour of various areas, including Krishna College, Bhanu Nagar, KRM Colony, and HB Colony within the ward.
During the visit, Mayor Kumari emphasized the importance of creating robust infrastructure within the ward while addressing key issues. Notably, she expressed concern over the obstruction of roads by construction materials and stressed the need for proper sanitation management. In response, the zonal commissioner was instructed to clean up the Kali area in Bhanu Nagar and erect a fence around it.
The local corporator raised several issues to the attention of the Mayor and Commissioner, including a shortage of sanitation workers, malfunctioning street lights, an abundance of stray dogs, the necessity for road repairs in Bhanu Nagar, overflowing underground drainage, the modernization of Abdul Kalam Park, and the development of vacant spaces into parks. Assuring prompt action, the Commissioner committed to resolving all the problems highlighted by the ward members and directed officials to prepare estimates for necessary works.
The visit witnessed the participation of various officials, including Town Planning Officer Sunitha, Zonal Commissioner Vijayalakshmi, AMOH Rajesh, DDH Damodar, and GVMC Engineering Officers. With these efforts and the commitment of local authorities, the 16th ward is poised for significant development and improvement in the days to come.
