In a shocking incident, a couple has been apprehended by the police for kidnapping a four-month-old baby boy and subsequently selling him to different women. The incident unfolded when the mother of the child, Kotamma, filed a complaint with the authorities.
Acting swiftly, a police team from the city initiated a rescue operation and successfully located the abducted baby. The accused couple, identified as Bhargavi and Ramakrishna, was apprehended on Friday.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) K. Hanumantha Rao, investigations revealed that Bhargavi and Ramakrishna befriended Kotamma before orchestrating the kidnapping. They then transported the infant to Visakhapatnam in a car, where they sold him to a woman named Anjali. Shockingly, Anjali further sold the baby to another woman named Hemalatha.
Concerned for the welfare of the child, the authorities promptly transferred the infant to a hospital for a thorough medical examination.
Kotamma and her husband Ramudu, residents of Kondapalli in the NTR district, were left distraught by the abduction of their son. The incident has sparked outrage and concern among the local community, emphasizing the need for enhanced vigilance and security measures to protect vulnerable individuals.
