Deputy Chief Minister Budi Mutyala Naidu expressed his disappointment with the lackluster performance of banks in providing loans to tenant farmers during a review meeting held in the presence of Union Minister of State for Finance Bhagawat Kishanrao Karad.

The meeting, chaired by Mr. Karad, focused on assessing the performance of banks across the State. Deputy Chief Minister Mutyala Naidu raised concerns about the low percentage of loans disbursed by banks to priority sectors in the State, highlighting that targets were not being met. He also noted that even private bankers were not sufficiently attentive to loans given to farmers, despite strict instructions from the government.

As the Panchayat Raj Minister, Mr. Mutyala Naidu emphasized the need for bankers to increase the loan value provided to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) entrepreneurs, aiming to provide them with vital financial support.

Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy was also present at the meeting.
