Anakapalli District, June 14, 2023 – In an incident that unfolded earlier today, a goods train carrying a load of coal derailed between Tadi-Anakapalli stations, leading to disruptions in train services along the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada route. While no major casualties or catastrophic damage were reported, the incident has resulted in significant inconvenience for commuters.

The derailment occurred at approximately 3:35 am, prompting the cancellation and delay of several train services. Today, the Visakha-Lingampally (12805) Janmbhumi, Visakha-Vijayawada (22701) Uday, and Visakha-Guntur (17240) Simhadri Express trains have been cancelled. The return journeys of these trains have also been affected and subsequently cancelled.

Passengers traveling on the Visakha-Secunderabad (20833) Vandebharat Express experienced delays, with the train departing three hours behind schedule. The Vandebharat Express, originally scheduled to leave Visakha at 5:45 am, departed at 8:45 am. As a result, passengers faced challenges and inconveniences during their journeys, particularly at Duvwada and Visakha railway stations where trains had to halt.

Authorities are actively addressing the situation and working to restore normal train operations along the affected route. Passengers are advised to stay updated with official announcements and consider alternative transportation arrangements, if required, due to the ongoing disruptions in train schedules. Although the incident did not result in severe consequences, it has caused notable disruptions to the daily commute of many individuals.
