Doctors in Visakhapatnam and nearby districts are gearing up for an exciting event as MPL 2, a 20-20 cricket league exclusively for medical professionals, is scheduled to commence on May 27. The Vizag Doctors Cricket Committee, headed by esteemed doctors Dr. Swamy, Dr. Leela Prasad, Dr. Naresh, and Dr. Pavan, made the announcement during a grand inaugural ceremony held on Monday.

A total of 135 doctors specializing in various fields from Visakhapatnam and neighboring areas have been divided into nine teams, creating an atmosphere of healthy competition. The matches are set to take place on weekends, starting from the last week of May and continuing until the first week of July. Two well-known stadiums, namely the Railway Stadium and the Port Stadium, have been chosen as the venues for these exhilarating encounters.

The presence of S.R. Gopinath Reddy, the honorable secretary of the Andhra Cricket Association, as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony added an extra layer of prestige to the event. Expressing his delight, Mr. Reddy commended the doctors for their commitment to participating in the league despite their demanding schedules. He acknowledged the importance of leisure activities and emphasized the positive impact such events have on fostering camaraderie and overall well-being.
