In a significant effort to promote gender equality and empower young girls, NTPC-Simhadri has introduced a new initiative called the Girl Empowerment Mission (Gem). The four-week program aims to provide comprehensive training to girls aged between 10 and 12 years from local government schools in the vicinity of the NTPC-Simhadri plant, located in Parawada of Anakapalle.

The Gem program, launched by NTPC-Simhadri, a prominent power-generating company, recognizes the importance of empowering girls at a young age and equipping them with essential skills. By focusing on this age group, the initiative seeks to nurture their talents and instill confidence, paving the way for a brighter future.

Through the Gem program, participating girls will undergo training in various skills that will enhance their personal development and broaden their horizons. The curriculum has been meticulously designed to cover a wide range of areas, including leadership development, communication skills, problem-solving, and teamwork.

NTPC-Simhadri has partnered with experienced educators and professionals who will conduct the training sessions, ensuring the highest quality of instruction. Additionally, the program will feature guest speakers who will share their experiences and provide valuable insights to inspire and motivate the young participants.

The launch of the Gem program reflects NTPC-Simhadri’s commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to fostering gender equality. By empowering girls through education and skill development, the company aims to create a more inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed.

Speaking about the program, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, the CEO of NTPC-Simhadri, expressed his enthusiasm and stated, “We firmly believe that investing in the empowerment of girls is a crucial step towards building a better society. Through the Gem program, we aim to unlock the potential of these young girls and empower them to become future leaders and change-makers.”

The Gem program has received overwhelming support from the local community and government authorities. The collaboration between NTPC-Simhadri and the surrounding government schools has been instrumental in bringing this initiative to fruition.

As the four-week program gets underway, the participating girls can look forward to an enriching experience that will not only develop their skills but also inspire them to dream big and reach for the stars. The Gem program holds the promise of creating a positive impact on the lives of these young girls and empowering them to shape a brighter tomorrow.
