Authorities from the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Paderu are taking steps to enhance tourism in the Araku and Paderu areas. A significant development plan has been devised for Padmapuram Gardens, a popular tourist attraction situated in the heart of the Araku Valley. The officials have introduced unique “Tree Houses” at Padmapuram Gardens, featuring six suite rooms, which are nearing completion. The remaining work, such as electricity and other installations, is currently underway. In addition to the tree houses, seating arrangements in the form of “Pagodas” are being arranged in open spaces adjacent to the tree houses. Furthermore, a small stage is being set up for hosting functions and events.

The ITDA is also considering the renovation of the existing garden and the establishment of a new garden with fresh flowers in an open area within the tourist spot. The plan includes the addition of a fountain and the reintroduction of a train. A new restaurant called “Giritej” is being constructed at the popular tourist destination.

Another aspect of the development plan involves identifying waterfalls located alongside the highway in the Agency areas that are easily accessible to visitors. These waterfalls will be developed with essential amenities, including steps, shelters for hawkers, seating, lighting, toilets, green spaces, drinking water facilities, restrooms, and changing rooms. Additionally, the garden areas surrounding these waterfalls will be landscaped and equipped with viewpoints to attract tourists.

With improved road infrastructure, including a major highway passing through Koyyuru and Ananthagiri, covering nine out of the 11 mandals in the Agency, the ITDA anticipates an increase in the number of tourists visiting the region. Therefore, efforts are being made to enhance facilities at various tourist destinations, such as Padmapuram Gardens and Chaparai. The Tribal Museum in Araku Valley has recently undergone renovations. Recognizing the popularity of Lambasingi among tourists in recent years, the ITDA has decided to develop a viewpoint at “Cheruvula Venam” in Lambasingi using funds from the MPLADS (Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme).

The ITDA is committed to providing better facilities at Vanjangi before the arrival of winter, ensuring an enjoyable experience for visitors.
