The Visakhapatnam police have claimed to have busted a gang of robbers and recovered a large sum of cash, cars, a knife, and cell phones used in the dacoity. The accused were identified as Vantala Poorna, Korra Prem Kumar, and Bujji. According to ASP KPS Kishore, the gang, led by mastermind Vanthala Poorna, lured a former sarpanch of Manyamvari Palem, K Rajeswara Rao, into their scheme with a rice-pulling coin containing powerful metals that could fetch more than Rs 500 crore if sold to auction companies abroad. Rajeswara Rao agreed to join the gang as a partner to sell it to the companies interested in the metal, but was later looted of Rs 8 lakh cash by the gang members. The accused were arrested when they were on their way to distribute the looted money.
