In a disturbing incident on the outskirts of Anakapalle, Visakhapatnam, a rowdy-sheeter was found dead in the early hours of Thursday. The victim, identified as Rajana Kannababu, alias Panthulu (42), had a history of criminal activities and was involved in a range of serious offenses.
Local residents made the shocking discovery when an individual, while answering nature’s call, stumbled upon the lifeless body and promptly alerted the police. Anakapalle rural police, under the leadership of Inspector A. Ravi Kumar, swiftly arrived at the crime scene to initiate investigations.
According to the authorities, a rowdy sheet had been opened against the deceased at the Pendurthi police station in the city. Kannababu, a resident of Sujathanagar, had been entangled in cases related to land settlement, kidnappings, murders, and attempted murders. Due to his criminal activities, he had been externed from Vizag city in 2021, subsequently relocating to Anakapalli where he resided with his mother in the Gandhinagar locality.
Inspector Ravi Kumar disclosed that the rowdy sheet had been transferred to the Anakapalle police station from Pendurthi. Despite warnings, Kannababu continued to engage in illicit activities within the real estate sector and land disputes.
The police suspect that the motive behind the murder could be linked to disputes arising from real estate businesses. Near the crime scene, liquor bottles were discovered, suggesting that Kannababu may have been attacked with them. It is believed that a group of individuals, possibly involved in a drunken brawl, carried out the fatal assault.
A dedicated team is diligently working to identify the individuals responsible for this heinous act. Investigators are focusing their efforts on uncovering the details of the real estate dispute that may have triggered the murder.
