The Sea Harrier Museum, which is set to be inaugurated on May 11, has received its exhibits from Goa. The museum, which is located on the Beach Road in Visakhapatnam, will showcase a decommissioned Sea Harrier fighter aircraft. It is expected to be a major tourist attraction for the city.

According to sources, the museum has received several exhibits from the Naval Aviation Museum in Goa, which includes an aircraft engine, photographs, and other memorabilia related to aviation. The exhibits will be displayed alongside the Sea Harrier, which was gifted to the Andhra Pradesh government by the Indian Navy.

The Sea Harrier, which is a British-made fighter aircraft, was operated by the Indian Navy from 1983 to 2016. The decommissioned aircraft was transported to Visakhapatnam in November 2020, and has been under the care of the Indian Navy since then. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has been entrusted with the responsibility of setting up the museum.

The museum is expected to be a tribute to the Indian Navy’s aviation history, and will also serve as an educational center for visitors interested in aviation. The inauguration of the museum is expected to be attended by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is set to arrive in Visakhapatnam on May 11.
