Visakhapatnam experienced a heartwarming display of community engagement and environmental responsibility as students, teachers, staff, and alumni of St. Aloysius’ Anglo-Indian High School joined forces for a remarkable beach cleanup drive on the eve of World Environment Day. The vibrant participants eagerly gathered at R.K Beach in the early hours of the morning, ready to make a positive impact.

Working together harmoniously, the school community divided themselves into three groups, each assigned a specific section along the breathtaking beach stretch from NTR Statue Junction to YMCA Junction. With unwavering determination, they dedicated themselves to the task at hand, diligently clearing the area of various forms of litter that had accumulated over time. Their concerted efforts encompassed the removal of food waste, plastic items, water bottles, cups, and bags, restoring the pristine beauty of the coastline.

While one team dedicated their energy to the cleanup operation, another group embarked on a purposeful walk along Beach Road, their vibrant placards and banners adorned with slogans advocating for the protection of our precious ecosystems. By engaging with passersby and spreading awareness about the significance of environmental conservation, they succeeded in igniting a spark of consciousness in the hearts of onlookers, inspiring them to contribute to the greater cause.

The event witnessed an astounding turnout, with approximately 80 students, 18 teachers, and 30 dedicated alumni actively participating in the noble endeavor. The resounding success of this initiative would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the Aloysian Alumni Association, whose continuous encouragement and assistance played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the participants.
