In a tragic incident, two children drowned at the beach near Gangalamma temple under One Town police station limits in Vizag city on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as 14-year-old Dalai Ishant and PS Shyam Kumar.

According to the police, a group of youngsters had gone to the beach for a swim. Unfortunately, two of them were caught in a strong current that took them deep into the sea. Despite the efforts of their friends and onlookers, the two children could not be saved.

The police arrived on the scene promptly and rushed the children to the hospital, but it was too late for Ishant, who was declared dead on arrival. Shyam Kumar fought for his life but ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

This tragic incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. The police have urged caution while swimming in the sea and advised people to stay away from areas with strong currents. They have also requested parents to keep a watchful eye on their children while they are playing near the beach.
