A devastating accident occurred at Sahithi Pharma Company in Auchuthapuram SEZ on Friday, leaving several workers injured. State Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath visited the injured at KGH and expressed his condolences. The Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, also expressed shock over the incident.
According to Minister Amarnath, the accident took place during the morning shift while loading solvent into a container. Out of the 35 workers present, seven were seriously injured and immediately rushed to different hospitals for treatment. Regrettably, two individuals, identified as Payla Satthibabu and Uppada Tirupati, succumbed to their injuries.
Minister Amarnath revealed that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the accident. The government is collecting detailed information to determine the cause of the incident. The Chief Minister announced an exgratia of Rs. 25 lakhs for the families of the deceased.
In light of the tragedy, Minister Amarnath emphasized the government’s commitment to providing the best possible treatment to the injured. He assured that the injured workers would be moved to another location if required for better medical care.
The Minister also highlighted the government’s efforts in conducting safety audits for hazardous industries and implementing necessary precautions. However, he acknowledged the unfortunate occurrence of such accidents despite these measures. The government is determined to take more stringent decisions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The authorities are actively investigating the accident, and strict action will be taken against any negligence found. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring safety in industrial operations and the need for continuous vigilance.
