Union Home Minister Amit Shah Accuses YSRCP Government of Corruption and Scams in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, 11th June 2023 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his visit to Visakhapatnam to commemorate the nine-year tenure of the Modi government, launched a scathing attack on the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh. Shah accused the Jagan government of being riddled with corruption and involved in scams.

Amit Shah criticized the lack of concrete development in Andhra Pradesh over the past four years under the Jagan government. He questioned the utilization of the sanctioned funds of Rs. 5 lakh crore provided by the central government, stating that the state had received substantial financial support. Shah alleged that the government had failed to account for the allocated funds.

Highlighting the plight of farmers, Shah expressed concern over Andhra Pradesh ranking third in farmer suicides. He criticized the government’s handling of the issue and urged Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to take responsibility for the distressing situation.

Shah also accused the YSRCP leaders of involvement in illegal activities such as land grabbing and mining scams in Visakhapatnam. He stated that the city had become a haven for these activities under the ruling government.

Amit Shah listed the development programs and funds released by the central government for the state. He accused the YSRCP government of hijacking the central schemes and urged the people of Visakhapatnam and Andhra Pradesh to ensure the BJP’s success in the upcoming elections by securing at least 20 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

The accusations made by Amit Shah have intensified the political discourse in Andhra Pradesh, with the YSRCP government facing the challenge of addressing these allegations and regaining public trust. The upcoming elections will be a crucial test for the ruling party, as they strive to defend their governance record and tackle the corruption claims.
