Visakhapatnam, June 17 – Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, the Mayor of Visakhapatnam, has embarked on a mission to transform public parks in the city, emphasizing their importance for enjoyment and community development. In recent initiatives, she laid the foundation stones for the redevelopment of Brindavanam Children’s Park and Shivaji Park, signaling the city’s commitment to creating vibrant recreational spaces.

Brindavanam Children’s Park, located in the MVP Sector 2, will be transformed into the Rainbow Theme Park at an estimated cost of Rs. 95 lakhs. The mayor inaugurated the project in the presence of Akramani Vijayanirma, the East Constituency Coordinator. The park’s redevelopment plan includes innovative features such as a rainbow-shaped walking track, exercise equipment, green landscaping, public restrooms, drinking water facilities, benches, and protective walls. These additions aim to cater to the diverse needs of visitors, from children to adults, providing an enjoyable and safe environment.

During the foundation stone-laying ceremony, Mayor Kumari reiterated the significance of parks in enhancing the quality of life for residents. She assured the allocation of government funds to support the development of parks across the city. In line with this commitment, plans are underway to create one or two parks in each ward of the East Constituency, with the goal of transforming each ward into a model example of community development.

Shivaji Park, a long-awaited redevelopment project in the city’s third zone, 17th ward, was also launched during the event. The park’s revitalization, estimated to cost Rs. 153.30 lakhs, aims to provide a pleasant and recreational space for the surrounding community. The redevelopment plans include the installation of a well-designed walking track, children’s play equipment, comfortable benches, public restrooms, lush greenery, and exercise facilities. This holistic approach seeks to create an inclusive park that caters to the needs of all age groups and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle.

The initiatives led by Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari have been met with enthusiasm from local residents. The park redevelopment projects not only aim to provide spaces for relaxation and recreation but also contribute to the beautification and overall development of Visakhapatnam. The presence of senior officials and local leaders at the foundation stone-laying ceremonies signifies the collective effort to build a more vibrant and enjoyable city for all.
