In a shocking incident that unfolded in Anakapalli, ten youths, including students pursuing degrees, post-graduation, and engineering, were apprehended by the police for their involvement in a robbery. The incident took place on Monday night at Bavuluwada in Anakapalli Mandal, Andhra Pradesh. Prompt action by the authorities led to the successful arrest of the suspects involved in the crime.

According to the police report, the victims, who were traveling in a mini van, were intercepted by the group of youths. Mistaking them for individuals transporting ganja, the assailants threatened and assaulted the four occupants of the van. They demanded money and managed to steal a mobile phone worth Rs. 20,000 from the victims.

After the incident, the terrified victims decided to leave Visakhapatnam, where the incident occurred, before informing their family members and relatives about the ordeal. Subsequently, they lodged a complaint at the Anakapalli Gramin Police Station, providing crucial information that aided in the identification of the suspects.

The diligent efforts of the police, supported by the availability of CCTV footage, led to the arrest of several individuals involved in the robbery. Those apprehended include Yallapu Nukaraju, Molleti Lokesh, Karri Purna Darshak, Damarauthu Mohan, Konatala Diwakar, Saragadam Mahendrakumar, Polamarashetty Lokesh, Eesamshetty Bharadwaj, Anil Duppada, while one individual named Yerramshetty Vamsi is still at large and considered absconding.

Further investigations have revealed that some of the accused individuals had connections with ganja transporters. The police have launched a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the extent of their involvement in such activities.

Anakapalli District SP, KV Muralikrishna, disclosed the details of the case at his office and commended the diligent efforts of the police officers involved in solving the crime. DSP Subbaraju, Rural CI Ravikumar, ASI S. Bhaskara Rao, Constable N. Venkata Rao, P. Nagendra, and Y. Lakshmana Reddy were praised for their swift and efficient action, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspects.
